Fran and grandson Nicholas (daughter Ganelle Marie Pifer-Cannon's son) Christmas 1996

"Fran Carlston passed away Friday, August 24th, 2007. She is survived by her two daughters, Britt Marie Steen and Ganelle Marie Pifer-Cannon; as well as, her grandson Nicholas (Ganelle's son) and siblings, David and Sandra. She dearly loved her two daughters and her grandson was the light of her life. She was born in Springville, Utah, yet spent most of her childhood through to her sixty-second year in Glendale, CA. She earned an associates degree from Glendale College in the field of substance abuse counseling. In 2005, she retired to Salt Lake City, Utah. Fran was known for her outgoing personality; moreover, she loved people and had a generous, kind heart. She had a great love of color and was an excellent artist and interior decorator. She was beautiful in both her physical and inner self and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She has been placed at rest at the Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn Cemetery."
